It's the time of year when we all start drawing our curtains and taking a lot more notice of our interiors as the days get shorter – and at Limited Editions, 2006 seems to be going even faster than 2005!

Our Aalto Colour Studio
Many of you will have noticed that Aalto has now been incorporated into the Limited Editions showroom instead of being a separate business.

For some time we have felt that the beautiful and distinctive paints available from Aalto should be marketed in the same way as fabrics, wallpaper, and furniture – you should be able to buy them from your favourite design company rather than heading to a paint shop!

Limited Editions are leading the way on this development and, with the cooperation of Aalto Colour, we now have a Colour Studio as part of our overall library and showroom.

Anna Eaden is our Aalto Colour specialist. Anna is a very good colour consultant and is available to visit your home or assist you in the showroom. As she is now part of the Limited Editions interior design team, she can also help you with our furniture and furnishings.

Please note that we no longer mix paint on site – all paint is mixed in Auckland and delivered to us on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, so please make sure that you place your order a few days before you need the paint.

What’s new at Limited Editions?
As always at this time of year, there are a plethora of new fabrics and wallpapers.

Designers Guild has introduced a wide selection of very well priced essentials over the last few months – beautiful plains at very good prices, and there are also wonderful silks, prints, and weaves.

Look out for the new damask designs in Trevira, which look like silk, but perform well in New Zealand’s light. Also, two new Kids' ranges are due to arrive soon – Etoile for babies and Portobello for teens.

Cole & Son and Osborne & Little continue to release stunning wallpaper designs.

Look for the Vintage Book from O&L, re-releases of their best sellers from the 60’s, and rich flocks from Coles.

Also modern flocks from the very smart French Company, Elitis.

The name Ralph Lauren conjures up wonderful visions of all things beautiful. We now have our first selections of his wonderful fabric and wallpaper collections – beautiful Blue Books, paisleys, velvets, plaids, corduroys, faded florals, textured cottons, and wallpapers to die for – archive florals, stripes and wonderful themed papers of old maps, seabirds and shells, postcards.

Stripes and plains are always in demand.


The nicest stripes this season are from Zoffany.

The best new plain is probably Romo Linara.


This enduring linen/cotton plain has now been re-coloured at least 4 times, but it continues to be a worldwide best seller – great for upholstery, but it also makes beautiful blinds and heavy curtains.

The way we cover our windows is ever changing. Shortly we will install our shutter display in the showroom, featuring Santa Fe Shutters, and you will also notice several new blind and curtain displays going up.

Some are to inspire, others are to ensure that you can see the effects our designers talk about.

New furniture library items...
Our Furniture Library (downstairs in our basement) is designed to show you many of our best furniture designs. All the furniture in the Library is covered in a plain cream fabric so you can see the design, without the influence of a particular fabric.

New additions to the Library are the Portobello, a relaxed sofa, available loose covered or fully upholstered. As well, we have the Jack chair, a larger version of the Harry, one of our favourite chair designs.

Furniture restoration needed?
Limited Editions also restores chairs and sofas. We offer a full restoration service for your older furniture, which you know and love.

As well, we also buy old designs, restore them and resell them in our showroom. We currently have a pair of 30’s chairs fully restored and covered in a retro Sanderson fabric. The beauty of restored chairs is that they are true “one offs”
