Welcome
to the June 2007 newsletter from the team at Limited Editions
We
have now been in the Studio on Level 2 of the Woolstore at 258 Thorndon
Quay for just over 7 months.
The studio is working very well and our clients are enjoying the
workshop atmosphere. Being in a light filled roof top space, after
all those years down on ground level is refreshing and inspiring.
This newsletter introduces some of the beautiful new fabrics and
wall coverings, released this season.
The new collections...
One
of the most spectacular print collections this Autumn is Teatro
Chino from Gaston Y Daniela,
the major Spanish house famous for spectacular prints.
Designers Guild (below)
have released
Oriental Garden, another collection inspired by Asia.
Osborne and Little's new collection has drawn its inspiration from
Portugal.
Large and simplified damask weave designs are a top trend this
year along with dramatic damask wallpapers.
There are collections in particular which
are quite spectacular - Cole
& Son's Damask
wallpaper (which is shown on the right) and Zoffany's
Nureyev which
is shown below
left.
Nureyev
is a damask design, taken from an 18th century silk damask which
once hung in the famous dancer’s Paris apartment.
To achieve a 21st century look, Zoffany’s
designers have enlarged and simplified the design.
This is one of the joys of textiles and wall coverings –
there is such a rich history, which never fails to delight.
Finally, thank you to all of you who have now visited the Studio.
Please remember that as we no longer have a retail showroom, our
staff are all committed to projects, so we urge you to call ahead
to make a time with the designer you wish to see. We are very flexible
and we will always try to fit you in at a time which suits you.
