Colour and Design Trends 2010....
At Limited Editions we tend not to be very influenced by trends.
Our focus is on working with our clients to ensure their homes please
them and that the design is the best it can be. However while we
eschew trendy, we recognise that we will be influenced by current
colour and design trends. The skill is in selecting what works and
will endure, as the best designs always do.
I have been looking at the colour predictions from
Pantone and Farrow and Ball. Colours are becoming richer –
gray based neutrals and intense inky darks are combined with bitter
oranges and golds, as well as sharp crisp yellow greens. There are
deep indigos and purples, combined with aquas and Pantone has announced
that Turquoise is the colour of the year for 2010.
“Combining the serene qualities of blue and
the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of
soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from
the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring
our sense of wellbeing.”
Bathrooms, Kitchens and Joinery
Limited Editions has an excellent reputation for individually designed
joinery which makes storage a real feature in the design of many
spaces, and this year we have also been busy designing kitchens
and bathrooms.
The images below show a recent joinery project (left),
and one of Philippa Whitaker’s more glamourous bathroom designs
(right), completed while she was working in London. See
our website for more examples of our work.
Christmas is almost here..................
2009 has been an interesting year, and we are now working on projects
for 2010. We are closing the Studio for the holiday break at 5pm
on Friday 18 December and we will reopen on Monday 11 January.
We thank you for your support in 2009, and wish you
all a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and a happy and
prosperous 2010.
With best wishes

Claire and the Limited Editions team
